Mirosław Wróblewski - President of the Personal Data Protection Office

A graduate in law and political science (specialisation - international relations). He is the author of nearly 100 articles and academic publications on constitutional law, international law, European law, and the protection of human rights.

From 2007 to 2024 he was an employee of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (the Ombudsman), where he served as Director of the Constitutional, International and European Law Department. Former Chairman of the Human Rights Commission of the National Council of Attorneys at Law.

He was a member of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) Management Board from 2012 to 2017. In 2012 he was elected as Chairman of the FRA Budget Committee, and in 2014 he was elected as one of 4 members of the FRA Executive Committee.

In 2009-2010, he was the coordinator of the EU Eastern Partnership Countries Ombudsmen Cooperation Programme initiated by the Polish Ombudsman. He repeatedly took part in the preparation of positions and represented the Ombudsman in court proceedings, in the Constitutional Court, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

He has been an expert on the invitation of international institutions (including the Council of Europe, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), the European Commission, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights) and national institutions (in Europe and Asia). From March 2019 to 25 January 2024, he was a board member of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI). Member of the Polish European Law Association, the Polish Constitutional Association and the Prof. Zbigniew Hołda Association.
